CHINA - JAPAN FLASH POINT
Simmering tensions between China & Japan have risen to boiling point in 2013 , with a dispute over the contested Senkaku/ Diaoyu Islands leaving both bristling diplomatically & militarily & on the cusp of open conflict. Amid Japan's growing unease over China's rising power & increased forceful stance over the disputed islands , China continues to challenge Japan's sovereignty of , with territorial incursions & scrambling of fighter jets , leaving the region on a knife-edge. This clash continues a series of ' Communism vs. Capitalism ' face-offs as Russian-backed nations ( Syria - Iran - China - North Korea ) face-off against Western-backed nations ( Israel - Japan - South Korea ).
