Daniel 9 Prophecy – First coming of Jesus told 565 years in Advance

DANIEL 9 – Time of Christ given 565 years in Advance
“Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy.“Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes (JESUS anointed – 26 AD), there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a wall, but in times of trouble (they wouldn’t let foreigners help and things turned nasty) After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed.  He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ (3.5 YEARS AFTER 26 AD) he will put an end to sacrifice and offering (DEATH OF JESUS), and on the temple shall bethe abomination of desolations and at the end of time an end shall be put to the desolation.”  Daniel 9:24-27 (ending from Septuagint)

457 BC The starting date for this prophecy begins with decree of Artaxerxses (a Gentile King) to restore and rebuild Jerusalem. See note at bottom for meaning of this. Isaac Newton agrees that 457 BC is the date that Ezra went to Jerusalem by decree of Artaxerxes (see margin King James Bible 1701)
Ezra 7:7 “Ezra arrived in Jerusalem (complete with self praise and Jewish lineage)in the fifth month of the seventh year of the king (457 BC).
26 AD The start of Jesus ministry was a key time.  Mark 1:15 The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand.”  He was anointed by John.  Acts 10:38  “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power”. The date –26 AD, is confirmed by Luke 3:1” In the fifteenth year of the reign of TiberiusCaesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea… the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness”.  In AD 12, the powers held by Tiberius were made equal, rather than second, to Augustus’s own powers, he was for all intents and purposes a “co-princeps” with Augustus-  12 AD was the start of his reign – 26 AD was the 15th year.   Jesus was born approx 4-6 BC thus making him approx 30 at start of ministry – Luke 3:23 “Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry”. Jesus came as a light to the world, and brought light to the gentiles  (Matt. 4:15)

NOTE: DECREE of ARTAXERXES - A gentile King told Ezra to preach to foreigners- “And thou, Esdras, according to the wisdom of God ordain judges and justices, that they may judge in all Syria and Phenice all those that know the law of thy God; and those that know it not thou shalt teach. 1 Esdras 8:23  &  Ezra 7:25.  Ezra only knew how to be born a Jew – not BORN AGAIN – he sent foreigners away.  Gods prophets of the time expected the inclusion of foreigners – Mal. 1:10 “My name is great among the Gentiles, saith the Lord”(Septuagint) God’s prophets condemned Ezra’s actions (see “Born Again” alsowritten.wordpress.com/2012/12/05/born-again/ )
The message is below the surface – David knew that Jerusalem was established because a foreign King gave God praise 2 Sam. 5:11 “Hiram king of Tyre sent envoys to David, along with cedar logs and carpenters and stonemasons, and they built a palace for David. Then David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel and had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel.”  David understood the meaning of the city of God and building Jerusalem – not with bricks and mortar – but in preaching to the gentiles- which caused Hiram (a gentile King) to praise God  2 Chron. 2:12 And Hiram said: “Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, who made heaven and earth! From Nehemiah we see that 13 years after the arrival of Ezra, the city and walls were still in ruins- foreigners still excluded. Ezra should have understood Is. 60:10 “Foreigners will rebuild your walls, and their kings will serve you.” The Old Testament ends with Jerusalem shutting its gates on foreigners and the dark period where the “sun set on the prophets” Micah 3:6.  The New Testament ends with  New Jerusalem whose gates are never closed. “And its gates will never be shut by day—and there will be no night there”. Rev. 21:25
